Young daughter of Bons Pernard and Johnnie Lee (Barham) Maddox.
Cause of Death: Pneumonia.
Age: 1 year and 25 days old.
Information from death certificate. Informant was Mrs. Frank Vickers, Blanche, Tennessee

Her obituary follows:

The death of Betsy Jean Maddox, baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. P. Maddox, created profound sorrow in the Blanche vicinity. She was taken ill Friday afternoon and lived until Wednesday afternoon, January 13th. Everything that skilled physicians and loving hands could do was done to try to relieve her.

Betsy Jean was indeed the pride and idol of the home. She was about thirteen months of age, and the few words spoken by her will remain forever in the hearts and minds of the loved ones.

She is not dead but sleepeth, the sleep which is just a pause the vestments of of mortality to be clothed anew by Him who brought life and immortality to light.

She has entered the haven of rest made possible by the broken heart of the Son of God and His unspeakable triumph over death and the grave.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Blanche, conducted by Rev. D. G. Leiding and interment in the Blanche Cemetery, Rainey Undertaking Company of Ardmore, morticians, in charge.
