Opal B. Mayse, 78, a long time Rush County resident, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 in Indianapolis.

She was born July 7, 1933 in Owsley Co., KY, the daughter of Lucian & Nellie Turner Estes, both deceased. She married Charles E. Mayse on March 20, 1953 and he preceded her in death on February 25, 1972.

Opal was a member of the Little Blue River Church of Christ. She was an avid gardener.

She is survived by her sons, Don & wife Teresa Mayse of Arlington, Steve Mayse of Morristown, daughters, Joyce & husband Wayne Everage of Salem, Charlene Everage of Scottsburg, IN, Becky & Bob Daugherty of Rushville, Patty & husband Bob Bartley of Mission, TX, brothers, Junior & wife Barbara Estes of Connersville, Jerry Estes of Rushville, Fred & wife Brenda Estes of Laurel, 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, Opal was preceded in death by 2 sisters, 2 brothers and a grandson.

Services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, November 10 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, where friends are welcome to visit from noon until time of service on Thursday.
