Vernon "Bill" Whiting, age 91, died January 2, 1992, in Sandy, Utah.
He was born January 28, 1901, Provo, Utah, a son of Sylvester and Nettie Jones Whiting. He married Ada Saxey Mellor, May 16, 1937. She died March 29, 1991. Graduated from BYU. He was a high school teacher and principal in Utah. He also was associated with Floyd S. Whiting Co. and W.W. Clyde Co. He was an active member of the LDS Church, high priest.
He is survived by one son and two daughters, John R. Whiting, Mrs. Chris (Peggy Lee) Hill, Ann Timothy, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Graveside services Monday, January 6, 1992, 11 a.m., at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center, Sunday evening 6 to 8 p.m. or Monday 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
