Delsie Bishop, 93, of Eau Claire, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Golden Age Manor in Stevensville.

Delsie is survived by her loving daughter, Bonnie who was her care giver for many years & her son-in law Eldon Franz of Eau Claire. Delsie made her home with Bonnie & Eldon for 17 years before moving to Golden Age Manor.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday at the Benton Harbor Church of Christ, 1495 E. Empire Ave., with Rusty Stark officiating. Burial will follow at Shanghai Cemetery in Eau Claire. Friends may call beginning at Noon Friday at the Church. Memorials may be made to the Benton Harbor Church of Christ or to Hospice at Home.

Delsie's life began on June 21, 1914 in Sikeston, Missouri, the daughter of Van & Ida Acord. She graduated from Canalou High School in Canalou, MO as Valedictorian of her class in 1933. On December 19, 1933 she married a local farmer, Eric Bishop, who preceded her in death. Delsie and her family moved to a farm near Watervliet in 1938, and Southwest Michigan became her home. She was a member of Benton Harbor Church of Christ for many years and one of the oldest members. Delsie was a great lover of nature and loved working in her yard and flower gardens. She had beautiful flower gardens which she cared for until her health prevented her from doing so. Delsie was employed at Michigan Fruit Canners as an asceptic operator until 1979 when she retired after 29 years.
She was known by her family & friends as a meticulously neat & organized lady. Every thing that she did was done to perfection.

In addition to her daughter, Delsie is survived by her step-grandchildren-Sherry (John) Skowronski of Benton Harbor, Larry Franz of Apopka, FL; four step great-granchildren; sister-in-law Dean Acord of Dexter, MO; special nephews & nieces-Jerry (Patti) Acord of Hillsboro, MO, Steven (Cindy) Acord of White Sands, NM, Stanley (Katherine) Acord of Bloomfield, MO, Jeanette Layton of Dexter, MO, Irma (Dennis) Sanders of Dexter, MO, Laura Acord of Dexter, MO; and a dear friend Dimple Malloy of Morehouse, MO. She was preceded in death by her only sibling-Alfred Acord in 1995.
