Mrs. Elizabeth Lawson, mother of Mrs. W.J. Price, died at the residence of her daughter, near Buckeye, on March 27th, aged 78 years, nine months and twelve days. She was a member of the Baptist church of which she had been an earnest, consistent communicant for nearly forty years. She leaves five sons, two daughters and over one hundred grand and great grandchildren. Three of her children are on this coast; the balance reside in Missouri. The funeral took place from the lady's house in Cottonwood, her remains being interred in that place, and was conducted by Rev. T.R. Bowles, of this place.

DIED--At the residence of W.J. Price, nine miles southeast of Madison, California, March 27th., 1890 Elizabeth Lawson.
She was born in Stokes county, North Carolina June, 1819. She married John Lawson in 1828. The family moved to Missouri in an early day, and settled 5 miles north of California, on Brush Creek, where they raised ten children, seven of whom survive her. In 1850 both parents made a profession of religion and joined Salem Baptist Church, located in the neighborhood, living consistent members of this denomination until 1873, when in failing health, they resolved to seek the genial climate of the Pacific coast, and moved to Yolo county, Calf., settling in the town of Cottonwood, 1 1/2 miles south of Madison. Here they lived until the death of Mr. Lawson, February 6, 1883. October last, Mrs. Lawson health becoming bad, she moved to her daughter's, Mrs. Price's where death found her. Her funeral was preached at her house in Cottonwood, a large concourse of friends attending.
