Catherine Ann Light was born on March 10, 1832, in Clermont, Ohio, her father, David, was 31, and her mother, Harriet, was 29. She married Andrew Yeaton Wheeler on December 3, 1849, in Paris, Illinois and they remained married for 74 years, at one time the longest recorded marriage in the southwest. They had four children in 11 years, Alfred, Alice, Alva and Alma. She lived at the family farm in Paris, Illinois for most of her life, until she and her husband moved to Union City, Oklahoma to be near her daughters.
She died on December 27, 1928, in Union City, Oklahoma, at the age of 96, and was buried there.
