Anna Mary Thrush, age 93, a resident of Menno Haven of Chambersburg, PA. and formerly of Dumeny Rd. Greencastle, PA. died at 3:18 P.M. Friday, November 4, 2011 in the Menno Haven Nursing Center.

Born December 13, 1917 in Harrisburg, PA., she was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Rachel (Snoke) Hensel.

Anna Mary was a homemaker and a member for over 50 years of the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church near Mercersburg. She enjoyed sewing, making crafts, cooking, collecting dolls and memorizing and reciting poems.

Her husband, Ralph Wilson Thrush died June 1, 1984.

Surviving family are one step-daughter Dorothy Jean (husband Amos, deceased) Carbaugh, Greencastle,PA., three daughters Kathryn Elaine (husband David) Long, Greencastle, Arlene Rachel (husband Wesley) Frey, Washington Boro, PA., Judith Ann (husband Nathan) Lehman, Mountville, PA., two sons, Royce Wilson (wife Genevieve) Thrush, Fort Loudon, PA., Robert Leroy (wife Diana) Thrush, Greencastle, niece and nephew whom she helped Rachel Elizabeth (husband David) Stotler, Elizabethtown, PA., Albert Joseph (Wife Rebecca) Hoffman, Conneaut, Ohio, three brothers John Hensel, Messiah Village, Grantham, PA., Glenn Hensel, Menno Haven, Chambersburg, Earl Hensel, Crescent City, CA., fourteen grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and eleven step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers Lester Hensel, David Hensel and four sisters Elizabeth Hoffman, Florence Davis, Grace Rutt and Esther Thrush.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 9 at 11:00 A.M. from the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church 6727 Montgomery Church Rd. Mercersburg, PA. with Rev. Dennis Ritchey officiating. Burial will be in the Air Hill Brethren In Christ Church Cemetery Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle on Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 P.M. and at the church one hour before the service on Wednesday.
