Martinsburg, PA: The Martinsburg Herald, issue of 19 April 1888

On Saturday, April 14th, Mrs. Catharine Dick, of Taylor township, this county, died, and was buried at Albrights church on Sunday the 15th. At the time of her death she was aged 82 years 7 months and 1 day. She had been a member of the River Brethren church.

Last Will and Testament of Catharine Dick, Late of Taylor Twp. Deceased

I Catharine Dick of the Township of Taylor County of Blair State of Pennsylvania, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do hereby make and declare this instrument to be my last will and testament, that is to say, I give and bequeath to my daughter Lydia Dick all my household furniture, goods, and chattels, and all effects which may be at my death in and about my dwelling house.

I hereby appoint Levi Smaltz of the above said Township County and State as the Executor of this instrument, hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time made.

In witness whereof, I, Catharine Dick have to this my last will and testament subscribed my name this 6th day of April 1885.

The foregoing instrument was at the date thereof signed, sealed, published and declared by the said testatrix Catharine Dick, as and for her last will and testament, in the presence of us, who at her request, in her presence and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses thereof.

Blair County SS: This 5 day of May A.D. 1888 before me Chas. R. Downing Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the County of Blair, personally came Levi Smaltz, who being duly sworn does depose and say, that as executor of the last will and testament of Catharine Dick, deceased, he will well and truly administer the goods and chattels, rights and credits of said deceased, according to law, and also will diligently comply with the provisions of the law relating to Collateral Inheritances. Also that the estate and effects, real and personal, for or in respect of which the above Probate is applied for does not in value exceed the sum of Three hundred Dollars, to the best of his knowledge and belief.
