Anna was the daughter of William Floyd and Jane Pillmore. She was a great-granddaughter of William Floyd, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. She left New York in 1884 to settle on a section of land in Sully County, Dakota Territory across the road from her younger brother, William Floyd and his family. Anna married Emmett McEntee 27 Oct,1885 in Pierre, Hughes County, Dakota Territory. The couple divided their time between the land in Sully County and their home in Oneida County, New York. Anna and Emmett did not have children. Anna died in Pierre, South Dakota on June 11, 1910 and her body was sent by train to New York where she was buried in Kirkland Cemetery on June 18, 1910. Exact location of her burial plot in the cemetery is currently uncertain.
