My Cool Uncle
Remember when you were a kid and that person you looked up to. Not your Mom or Dad, but that supper cool person. The one you wanted to act like and talk like; you even wanted to listen to the same music as they did. Well, for me that person was my Uncle Bob. Where I grew up there was a real soda shop and it was the cool place in town to be. I wanted to go there so bad and just hang out with the teenagers, but I was just too little. So one day Uncle Bob asked me to go with him that night. Mom fixed my hair and I had a real big girl date with my Uncle Bob. He bought me a Coke and let me play the jukebox. I will never forget the song I played it was Buddy Holly's "That'll be the Day" I was on cloud 9. I didn't realize it, but this was his way of saying goodbye because he went into the Navy a few days later. My Uncle Bob was always the coolest person I knew and tonight Heaven is the cool place to be, because he is there.

Served in the Navy on the USS. Navasota from 1959-1963. Loving husband, father of two and grandfather of four.
