WILLIAM VOIGT FUNERAL SERVICES HELD HERE MONDAY
Funeral services for William D. "Bill" Voigt, 63 were held Monday, March 21, at 10 a.m. in the Schaetter Funeral Home. The Rev. L. J. Durkop officiated in the rites.
Mrs. L. J. Durkop, accompanied by Mrs. J. J. Moritz, was the vocal soloist. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Voigt, who lived in Fredericksburg for 13 years, built the U.S. 290 Courts, west of the city in 1940 and operated them until he sold them in 1963 to move to Arizona for his health.
He died in Tucson, Arizona, Wednesday morning, March 16.
Voigt was a native of Red Rock, Texas, where he was born on Dec. 11, 1902, the son of Henry Voigt and Rose Snow Voigt. He married Audrienne Smith on April 12, 1928.
He is survived by his wife, of Tucson, Arizona; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Gusta McMullen, San Antonio; Fletcher Voigt, Austin; Louis, George, Howard and Robert Voigt all of Lockhart; Homer Voigt, Seguin; Adolph Voigt, Mrs. Audrie Holden and Mrs. Amsie Vivian all of California.
He was preceded in death by two sisters; Mrs. Josie Hawker and Mrs. Myrtle Rice; and a brother Raymond Voigt.
Pallbearers at his rites were: Fred Voigt, Henry Voigt, Georgt Voigt, Hoerschel Voigt, Roy Voigt, James Moore and O. R. Voigt
