was the son of Friedrich and Magdelena Andrist was born March 9, 1872 in Milton township, Dodge County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Reformed church at Berne, Minnesota. His parents had immigrated from Canton Bern, Switzerland.
On January 9th 1901 he was married to Miss Martha Holliday. The couple had no children. The greater part of his life was spent in this community, where at the time of his death he was engaged in the jewelry business, being at his office on the day of his death. He also operated businesses in Kasson, Cannon Falls and Farmington, Minnesota.
For the past 3 years Mr. Andrist has suffered with heart trouble, which kept gradually growing worse. He died on Feb 2, having attained the age of 64 years, 8 months and 24 days.
The deceased was a good citizen and husband and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Martha, three brothers, Fred and Emmanuel of Pine Island and Samuel of Mantorville. Two brothers preceded him in death three years ago. He also leaves a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon from the home and at the M.E. Church with Rev. C. N. Hamrin officiating. Burial was made in the Pine Island cemetery.
