Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday from the Pine Grove Baptist Church for George Alvin Meadows, with Rev. Guy Gray officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Grove cemetery with the Mims Mitchell Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Meadows, a highly esteemed citizen, succumbed to a lengthy illness on January 11 at the age of 77. He was a native of Smith county but had resided the majority of his lifetime in Simpson County. He was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church.
Suvivors include two sons, Homer Meadows, Jackson; Curtis Meadows, Magee; one daughter, Mrs. Edner Scott, Woodville; 7 grandchildren; 4 brothers, O. C., Glenn Allen, Miss.; C. G., Mt. Olive; Julious (sic Julius), Mize; Gene, New Hebron; two sisters, Mrs. Nannie Runnels, Mize; Mrs. Carrie Grantham, Mt. Olive.
