Ken was a woodsman, mechanic, furnace repairman and a welder. He was a Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He spent a big part of his life helping others - parents, relatives and friends. If there was not a part available to repair what was broken, he would invent one. He was an extremely intelligent man. He married the love of his life, Josephine Tucker, on Oct. 26, 1950. You rarely ever saw one without the other.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Josephine "Jo" Buker; sister Maxine Brown and husband Joseph "Sonny" and their adopted sons, Michael and Patrick; his sister Thelma's children, Mildred Smith and husband Bud, and Marian Morgan; his brother Carroll's children, Theresa Langlois and husband Guy, Carroll "Bub" Buker and wife Patti, Thel Buker, Charles Buker, Macky Buker, John Buker, Harold Buker and Ernest Buker; his brother Carl's children, Betty Greunder and husband Dan, Carla Gibbons and husband Mike, Alan Buker and Mark Buker; his brother Robert's children, Robert Buker Jr., and his adopted daughter, Shannon Bizier and husband Jerimiah; and his sister Beverly's children, Kenneth Brown and wife Brenda, Shirley Charest and husband David, William Brown and wife Betsy, Richard Brown and wife Laurie and Paul Brown and wife Julie. He is also survived by his brother Harold's wife, Ruth Buker; his sister Beverly's husband, Eugene Robinson; his wife's sister, Mina Lane; and many friends, too numerous to list. From this large family there are several children -- these nieces, nephews and their children will sorely miss their Uncle Ken.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers Carl, Robert, Carroll and Harold; sisters Thelma Marston and Beverly Robinson; nephews Henry Marston and Chester Buker; a great-nephew, Carroll Buker Jr.; nieces Terry Davis and Cathy Reid.
A memorial service will be held at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta. (Morning Sentinel 11/3/2011)
