Margrethe Lovise "Maggie" Johnson was born near Calamus, Clinton County, Iowa 9 Mar 1880. She was the second child born to John G. Johnson and his wife Soneva Larsina Larson Rosland.

Her father was born near Calamus, Iowa and her mother was born on the Rosland farm near Bergan, Norway.

Her siblings were: Bertha Margarethe 29 Oct 1877-31 Oct 1926 (Iver Johan Klabo Jacobson 11 Aug 1864-12 Jul 1940), Elizabeth Georgiana "Gena" 30 Mar 1883-7 Feb 1973 (Johan "Alfred" Kjelstrom 26 Oct 1872-9 Jan 1945), Soneva "Johanna" 30 Oct 1885-9 Jul 1907, Alfred ca Oct 1895-27 Feb 1896 and an adopted brother, Alfred Olai, 9 Aug 1897-10 Feb 1971 (Carmelete Marie Sampson 5 Jan 1900-25 Feb 1996).

Maggie was baptized at the Kvinndherad Lutheran Church, Calamus, Iowa. She was confirmed at the Bethania Lutheran Church, rural Perley, 11 Nov 1894.

She attended rural school two miles from her home, Riverside District #26. She also went to parochial school for about six weeks each year.

She passed away at the age of 18 5 May 1898. Funeral services were held for her at the Bethania Lutheran Church on May 8, 1898.
