M. L. Bringle
M. L. Bringle, 79, former resident of Parsons and vicinity, died unexpected at 2:15 p. m.
yesterday at his home in Ashland, Ore., his daughter, Mrs. Cleve Taylor, southwest of Altamont,
was notified today. The cause of his death was not stated in the brief message.
Mr. Bringle had enjoyed very good health. He and Mrs. Bringle drove to Altamont last spring
from Oregon and spent several months visiting in the Taylor home and with other relatives and
friends in this vicinity. On Aug. 1 they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a family
reunion at the Taylor home. All of their children and their families were here for the affair. They
are Mrs. Taylor, southwest of Altamont ; Mrs. Burton Sheldon, Neodesha, Mrs. Joseph Hagan,
Everett, Wash., Mrs. Clara Williams, Napa Cal., and Floyd Bringle, Umpqua, Ore.,
Mr. and Mrs. Bringle married Aug. 1, 1886 and came to Labette county from Missouri shortly
afterwards. They lived on farms near Altamont and Mound Valley. In 1903 they moved to
Parsons, Mr. Bringle having been employed at the Katy shops. They moved back to a farm near
Altamont in 1921 and lived there until going to Oregon nine years ago.
Funeral arrangements had not been learned here yet, but is expected that the body will be
brought to Labette county for burial.
