William Robert "Reds" Riddle, Sr., 60, of Middletown, DE passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE.

Born on July 5, 1951 in West Jefferson, NC, he was the son of the late Edison Ford and Katherine Jane (Davis) Riddle.

Reds, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, worked as a heavy equipment operator most of his life and for several years worked for Guardian Construction in Bear, DE. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and spending time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered as an avid fisherman and as a kind and gentle man with a huge heart who was always willing to help others.

He is survived by his companion of more than 20 years, Donna Wallace and her mother, Peggy Wallace; two sons, Robert, Jr. and Wayne Riddle; a step-son, Charlie Hannah; three daughters, Kim, Cindy and Tina Riddle; a sister, Barbara Willett; a brother, Ed Riddle; two half-sisters, Norman Jean and Patricia Riddle; several grandchildren, as well as many dear friends.

A memorial service will be held 1 pm on Saturday, November 5 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street in Middletown, where friends may visit with Reds' family two hours prior. Interment will be held privately in Forest Cemetery.
