Dulus Gautney Parker, 91, of Center Star, Ala., died Feb. 28, 2008, at ECM Hospital.
Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Center Star Church of Christ. The funeral service will be Saturday, March 1, at 2 p.m. at the church. Bobby Holden and Coleman Barnette will be officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Gray, Vance Gray, Jason Johnson, Jr. Corum, Bradley Parker and Phillip West. Honorary pallbearers will be Shannon Johnson, Ray Smith, Larry Gautney, Bill Steen, Jason Bolton, Shane Thompson, Daniel Howard, Glenn Gautney and Danny Stafford.
She was a member of Center Star Church of Christ. She was a retired seamstress and loved to garden. She was a hard-working, loving and caring person who always put others first. She made many quilts and clothes with love for her children, grandchildren and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Butris H. (Boots) Parker; parents, Samuel and Nancy Ann Gautney; four sisters, Lila Steen, Georgia Joiner, Minnie Kelley, Corrine Van Dyke; brothers, Calvin, Thomas, Ben and Dalton Gautney.
She is survived by three daughters, Rose Gray (Gaylon), Dyanne Johnson (Larry), Barbara McGee (Larry); two sons, B.H. Parker Jr. (special friend, Pat) and Sammy Parker; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one stepgrandchild and two step-great-grandchildren.
