On May 5, 1919, Amanda married Elbert F. Dodds of Republic, Greene County, Missouri at Carthage, Jasper, Missouri.
The 1930 census shows Maudy Dodds, 69, widow, living with her daughter and family, Ivey and Fred Knight at Joplin, Jasper, Missouri.

Carthage, Mo. Oct. 10 - Mrs. Amanda Johnson Dodd, 79 years old , a Jasper county resident all her life, died at 8:30 this morning at her home....
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Iva Knight and Mrs. Ethel Johnson of Joplin and Mrs. Amy Bushner of Seneca; five sons, Elmer Johnson, at home; H.T. Johnson of Joplin, Charles Johnson of Galena, and Claude and Ulmon Johnson of Baxter Springs, and a sister, Mrs. Jerusla Ralston of Carthage.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30...Thursday afternoon at the Dudman church, southwest of Carthage. Burial will be in Dudman cemetery.
