Carthage, Mo. Oct. 18 - Mary Jerusha Ralston, 81 years old, died at 11:40....Sunday morning in McCune-Brooks hospital, where she had been a patient since September 22. Born November 10, 1862, in Iowa, she had been a resident of Avilla community for a number of years. For the last few years she had lived with a daughter, Mrs. Troy Connel of Lamar.
She was married November 27, 1885, to Robert N. Ralston in Seneca. He died in 1916.
She is survived by a son, Earl Ralston of Seneca, and three daughters, Mrs. Roy Sturdy of Carthage, Mrs. Al Childress of Mount Vernon and Mrs. Connel.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30... on Wednesday at the Dudman church with burial in the Dudman cemetery under the direction of the Ulmer funeral home.

In the 1900 census for McDonald, Jasper, Missouri, Mary Jerusha and Robert were listed with the following children: Ollie, Earl, Jessie, Goldie, and Ida.

After the deaths of her parents, Mary Jerusha and her sisters, Amanda and Almira were raised by their grandfather, Thomas Landers of Carthage, Missouri.
