Mrs. Hallie Selvidge Cox Myers, age 74, of Strunk, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2001, at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida, Tennessee. Funeral services were held Friday September 14, 2001, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Sim Thacker officiating. Burial was in the Barren Fork Cemetery. She was born In Eagle, Kentucky, on January 7, 1927, the daughter of the late Arlie Selvidge and Sarah Perry Selvidge. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband and father of her children: Robert Cox, and 4 brothers: Charlie, George, Green and Rube Selvidge: 3 sisters: Mary Pryor, Alice Shelley, Blanche Selvidge and 2 infant girls. Surviving family include 4 sons: Bill Cox and his wife Edith of Strunk, Johnny and his wife Rita of Strunk, Roger Cox and his wife Lois of Strunk, and Virgil Cox and his wife Michelle also of Strunk: 4 daughters: Marie Hale and her husband Roy of Strunk, Phyllis Myers of Strunk, Betty Webb of Pine Knot, Barbara Meadows and her husband Bob of Strunk. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and many family and friends that love her. Hallie was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
