Mr. James Adell Pettis, born February 23, 1923 in Cuero, Texas, passed away October 26, 2011. He worked and retired at Reynolds Metal Plant in Ingleside, Texas for 30 years, he was a Mason Brother. He loved life and his family very much. Mr. Pettis was known as the Domino King, which was his passion. He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, whom he dearly loved, Mrs. Shelvy Thomas Pettis, out of this union was born 12 children, nine sons and three daughters. The oldest James E. Pettis, Alexander A. Pettis, Arthur Pettis, Richard Pettis, Charles Ray Pettis, all of Corpus Christi, Texas; Bengia T. Pettis of San Antonio, Texas, Randy Pettis of Houston, Texas, Steven A. Pettis of Arlington, Texas and Sylvester James Pettis of San Antonio, Texas; daughters Shirley Mae Pettis Davis, Elizabeth Pettis Sowels both of Corpus Christi, Texas and Sylvia Ann Pettis Henderson of San Antonio, Texas; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; his daughter-in-laws, Eliza Pettis, Losestine Pettis, Tracie Pettis, Janice Pettis, Michelle Pettis and Minnie Pettis; and one son-in-law Stephen Henderson and a very special and devoted long time friend Ms. Joyce Green.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2011 at Seaside Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Seaside Funeral Home Chapel.
An Entombment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park
