Mrs. Lizzie Lacy
Mrs. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Ivester Stewart Lacy, 78, of R-1, Eastanollee, formerly of Lawrenceville, died in a local hospital Friday morning, Nov. 1, after an illness of several weeks.
The daughter of the late Bud and Fannie Franklin Ivester, she was born March 9, 1896, in Habersham County but had lived most of her life in Stephens County, with the exception of some 12 years which she lived in Lawrenceville.
She was affiliated with Hartwell Mills for a number of years and had been associated with the Wright Manufacturing Company for some 25 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church of Hollywood.
Mrs. Lacy was twice married, first to Mr. Harve Stewart, who died in 1919, and second to W. H. (Bill) Lacy, who survives her.
Survivors besides her husband include three daughters, Mrs. Winfred Shedd of Eastanollee, Mrs. Fred Gibbs and Mrs. Ivan Inman, both of Norcross; four sons, Joe Stewart of Toccoa, Fred Lacy of Gainesville, James Lacy of Lawrenceville and Mr. Charles Lacy of Atlanta; 29 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Grant, Mrs. Sallie Benfield and Mrs. Ethel Littleton, all of Hollywood and Mrs. Daisy Stonecypher of Clarkesville; two brothers, Pink Ivester of Toccoa and Mr. Odis Ivester of Hollywood.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Ernest Ivester and Rev. Estes Littleton officiating.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Interment was in Stephens Memorial Gardens under the direction of Acree-Davis Funeral Home.
