Third of nine children born to William Southard (1891-1978) and Flossie Maize Hite (1893-1968). Her parents moved from Dallas County, Missiouri around 1916 and she was born in Roberts County, Texas. She married George Worth Briley (1914-1993) on February 22, 1941. George was the son of George Washington Briley (1859-1918) and Ida Frances Ash (1869-1952). The couple had one child, Joe Pat Briley (1947-1967) who was killed in a car accident in Gunnison, Colorodo when he was only twenty years old. Three and a half years later, Dorothy died at the age of 54.


Those we Love remain with us, for Love itself lives on. Cherished memories never fade,because a loved one is gone. Those we Love can never be,more than a thought apart. For as long as there is a memory, they'll live on in our heart.
