Sterling Keefer Ecker, 74, New Windsor, was pronounced dead on arrival at Carroll County General Hospital yesterday at 10:15 p.m. He was born in Frederick County, a son of the late Dawson H. and Grace Keefer Ecker. Mr. Ecker was a member of Sams Creek Church of the Brethren and was employed by the Schaeffer Lumber company, Westminster. He is survivied by his wife, Mrs. Florence Strine Ecker; three sons and two daughter, S. Ray Ecker, Uniontown; Herbert P. Ecker, Westminster; Mrs. Catherine L. Graybill and Mrs. Betty E. Hooper, New Windsor; 18 grandchildren; a great-grandchild and three sisiters, Mrs. Paul Wilhelm and Mrs. Nellie Barnes, New Windsor, and Mrs. Paul Fritz, Westminster. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the New Windsor funeral home of D.D. Hartzler and Sons. Burial will be in Pipe Creek Cemetery, near New Windsor.
