Alonzo J. Edwards passed away at the home of his son, Charles Edwards, in this village on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 3. He was 73 years, 2 months and 1 day of age.
He was born in Livingston County, New York on October 2, 1835 being one of a family of 13 children.
He was married Sept. 28, 1858 to Emeline P. Green of his native county.Mrs. Edwards died several years since at their home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
They came west in 1862 settling at Exeter which was their home until 1891. They spent four years in Albany, moving to Colorado Springs in 1895.
They were the parents of six children all living and respected citizens.
They are: Charles of Albany; Jasper of Beloit; Mrs. John Mauch of Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Bert Collins and Lester and Herman of Colorado Springs
Deceased was popularly known in this section and possessed a host of friends who learned of his death with profound sorrow.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the home of Charles Edwards, Rev. Richard Pengillyconducting the services and interment was in the Albany Cemetery.
