Another of the old landmarks of this and Watervliet townships has passed away. Uncle Z. K. Stickney died at the residence of his son, Julius in the latter township, on Tuesday evening, the 25th, after a very brief but servere illness, at the ripe old age of 85 years, lacking but a few days. He came to this country 33 years ago from Burke, Franklin county, N. Y., and settled upon the farm, then a wilderness, where he died, and by industry and economy succeeded in gathering about him a good property. His funeral took place from the house Thursday. Rev. Mr. Matthews of the M. E. church, officiating, and he was laid to rest in the Hartford cemetery beside his wife who preceded him to the other shore four years ago.
