Carl Viggo Christensen, 85, of Cornelius, died Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Huntersville Oaks in Huntersville.

A native of Mecklenburg County, Mr. Christensen was born to the late Halver Emil Christensen and Bleeka Little Christensen on July 20, 1926. He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and retired as a pharmacist with Eckerd Drug Stores.

Mr. Christensen was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Headen Christensen; by brothers, Jack, Paul, Hans and Clifford Christensen; sisters, Doris and Dorothy Christensen.

Mr. Christensen is survived by his son, Eric Christensen of Cornelius; brother, Clayton Christensen of Southport and sister, Caroline Lemonds of Charlotte.

A graveside service will be held 2pm, Wednesday, October 26 in Forest Lawn West Cemetery with Rev. Peggy D. Bridgers officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the cemetery following the graveside service.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, www.wilsonfuneralservices.com.
