Charles Jesup married Abigail "Abby" Sherwood 09 Sep 1821 Green Farms, Fairfield, CT. Morris Ketchum Jesup's SAR information, son of Abigail and Charles Jesup, indicates that Morris' grandparents were Ebenezer Jesup and Sarah Wright.

Son of Ebenezer Jesup/Jessup and Sarah Wright, Charles was a graduate of Yale College in 1814 at the age of 18. On 9 July 1821 at Green Farms, Fairfield, CT, he married Abigail "Abby" Sherwood. The couple had eight children, but only one child was living in 1872 when Mrs. Jesup died in NY: Morris Ketchum Jesup. Morris Ketchum Jesup's SAR information, son of Abigail and Charles Jesup, indicates that Morris' grandparents were Ebenezer Jesup and Sarah Wright.

From a review of online information, this contributor suggests that Charles Jesup, Sr. died in CT. His remains, along with the remains of his several children buried in CT, were reinterred in Green-Wood Cemetery 21 October 1862.

The inscription is badly eroded, but this much can be discerned:

The remainder of the text is illegible but appears to be biblical text.
