Alta Burns, 82, of OKC, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2001. She was born on Dec 8, 1918 in OKC to Glenn & Edna (Cushing) Cross. She was employed in the Treasurer's Office of OK Dept of Education and retired there after many years. She loved her job and the people with whom she worked.
She was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She and Elly liked traveling with the Senior Adults and enjoyed their fellowship dinners. She also enjoyed working in the flower beds at the church. She and Elly were married 63 1/2 years and a more devoted couple could never be found. She has now joined Elly in Heaven, who preceded her in death just five weeks ago.
Alta was also preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Doris Ballard. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Anita Cross of Midwest City OK; nephews, Dick & Cathy Roby of Tulsa, Jim & Darla Reynolds of OKC, and Jack Reynolds of OKC; three great nieces and four great nephews. Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park on Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at 11 am with Phillip Davis officiating.
