Solomon Amidon is listed in The Amidon Family by Frank Best on PAGE 60 as a son of Smith and Phebe:

His family continues on PAGE 102. Notably it does not list his birth date but it does give his brother Martin V. B. Amidon's date as 1837.

Solomon can be found in the 1850 US Census with his parents in Hartsville, N.Y. and his year of birth is put at 1839. Martin Van Buren Amidon is 2 years older in that record. In the 3 other US census records that come up when searching Solomon his year of birth is listed as 1841 (1855), 1841 (1875) and 1840 (1880.) Source: familysearch.org/search

So it looks like Solomon's gravestone may have the incorrect birth year.
