Hulda Violla Burris, 86, of East Wenatchee, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007. She was known for being a feisty German gal, whose family moved from North Dakota to Dryden in 1938.
Hulda had an eighth grade education and yet, went on to become a real estate broker and to own her own real estate brokerage firm in Leavenworth. She was a longtime resident of East Wenatchee and she enjoyed cooking, growing flowers, loved to travel and she prided herself on being a pretty darn good fisherwoman. Anyone who knew Hulda, knew she especially loved animals; cats, dogs, ducks and wild birds. She also had two goals she always wanted to achieve and that was to get her pilot's license and to become a great golfer, but she never got around to either of them.
She leaves behind her dedicated husband, Darrel Burris, who always appreciated her spunk and spitfire; and her two brothers,Leonard and Wilbert (Marie) Bartel; and her many nieces and nephews: David, Jim, Kim, Jessica, Jason, Justin, Josiah and Jenava Bartel, Robert and Laurie Thomas, Joyce and Lee Salmon, Sarah and Earl Burris of California and Nancy Burris, Don and Rosalee Trotter, Bill and Wanda Burris, Jack, Betty, Sherry Burris, Brent and Sue Knight; and close friends, Roger and Carol La Rae, Orville and Nedra Bell and Charles and Marie Burris.
Memorial Services will be held at Telford's Chapel of the Valley, 711 Grant Road, East Wenatchee, on Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to a lunch reception following the services at the Royal Fork. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley.
