Stonington Founders Monument: Thomas Stanton Sr. (d.1677) founders's citation as set forth on the east side of the monument as located near the front center of Wequetequoct Burial Ground. The burial ground is located on the west side of Stonington, Connecticut off Greenhaven Road on USA Route 1. As the photographer of this photo taken during my 6 Aug 2014 cemetery visit, I hereby release it to the public domain and forfeit any future nebulous claim that the shot has somehow acquired a personal copyright. The Society of the Descendants of the Founders of Hartford erected this remembrance obelisk in 1986 as a replacement of the significantly eroded original obelisk made from concrete faced with inscribed brownstone. This photo by 10th Great Grandson DJ Paul, dated 4 Aug 2014 – shows the Sc through Wy side of the four-sided obelisk as located in center of Ancient Burying Ground Of Hartford Connecticut. Note: Thomas Stanton is named on the fourth side – twelve names from the top – as one of several original founders & settlers of Hartford, CT, having taken residence in Hartford in 1637. Thomas Stanton Sr. and his wife Anna Lord subsequently removed to Stonington, CT in 1650. The Ancient Burying Ground is located to the north side of Gold Street and west side of Main Street in central city, Hartford, CT, USA. As the photographer of this photo taken personally by me during a 4 Aug 2014 cemetery visit, I release it to the public domain and hereby forfeit any future nebulous claim that the shot has somehow acquired a personal copyright.
