Lorene died Monday, October 17, 2011, in Chickasha. She was born to Noah (Bud) Andrews and Allie (Hammer) McCalip on May 3, 1918 in Norman, Oklahoma. She was the oldest of 7 children. She had three brother and 3 sisters. Two brothers – Jack McCalip and Charlie McCalip – and one sister – Irene McCalip Williams – preceded her in death. Lorene married Paul Sherman Groseclose on July 5, 1934. She was 16 years old. They lived in Anadarko, Oklahoma until 1947 when they moved to Sanger, California. They later moved to Porterville, California. She and Paul worked in local fruit packing sheds. Lorene retired in 1982 at the age of 62. Then they moved back to Sand Springs, Oklahoma in the early 1990's to spend their retirement years. She started sewing for the public and making quilts. In the late 1990's after Paul passed away, Lorene moved to Carnegie and lived with her son, Carl, until her death. She enjoyed her family and family reunions. When her granddaughter, Pam, and granddaughter-in-law, Kelly, would come to visit, Pam and Kelly would tease, Grandma Lorene about "cleaning out her refrigerator" because she had them there to wash the dishes. Lorene was a member of the Nazarene Church in Carnegie.

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter – Orvala; a grandson – Timothy Groseclose; and a great granddaughter. Survivors include her four children; Pauline Sherrin of Carnegie; Carl Groseclose and his wife Sue of Carnegie; Paul Groseclose, Jr. and his friend, Virginia of Union City; and Harold Groseclose and his wife, Sharon of Nicoma Park. There are sixteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren (six generations). She is also survived by her sister – Loretta Samseverino of Tulsa; another sister – Earlene Hinson and her husband, Lawrence, of Sand Springs; and a brother – Albert McCalip and his wife, Ann, of Sand Springs. Also surviving Aunt Lorene were numerous nieces and nephews. Lorene's great grandsons will be the pallbearers – Raymond Williams, Eddie Williams, Jared Groseclose, Lance Williams, Delbert Kibby, Josh Felty, David Ray Webster, Peyton Webster.

Funeral for Lorene Elizabeth Groseclose will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the Nazarene Church in Carnegie, under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home with Rev. Chip Perkins officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery (5111 S. Memorial) in Tulsa at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 26 under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home.
