Passages of Life
Eunice was born on May 30, 1914 in McFarland, CA, to Charles and Oda (Garvey) Moomaw. She was the third of four sisters, Ethel, Veda (Aeschbacher) and Myrtle (Baldwin) all of whom preceded her in death.

Eunice grew up on her parent's farm in McFarland and worked hard with her sisters. The family enjoyed camping in Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks. She enjoyed learning to quilt with her mother and sisters as well as attending Bible School and youth activities at the McFarland Church of the Brethren. She graduated from high school in 1932 and attended Junior College for two years in Bakersfield, CA.

Eunice met Marlin at Bethany Seminary while they were both attending training school. On a very hot day, August 6, 1938, they were married in California and made their first home in Chicago, Illinois.

They had three children: June (Brechbiel) of Tucson, AZ, Jerry of Tonasket, Washington and Janet (Berkebile) deceased. They had seven grandchildren and ten great-granchildren and one deceased infant great-grandchild.

Eunice worked in the Manchester College cafeteria for two years and was Timbercrest's first Program/Activities Director. She served for eleven years before retiring in 1980.

Eunice and Marlin moved to independent livi9ng on Willow Way in 1994 and upon his death in 2006, she moved into the manor.

Church has always been the center of her life. She served as Stephen Minister, was active in the Koinonia Class, Mother's Study Group, prayer groups, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, Bible School, etc.

Her creativity amazed her family as she could take scraps and make something wonderful from them. She enjoyed making little boxes from greeting cards, corn husk dolls, needlework, crochet and writing poetry, jus to name a few.

Eunice touched many lives through her family, friends and Christian faith during her 98-1/2 years. She will be missed by all who had the joy of knowing her. Eunice died January 23, 2013.
