Darrel Vernon Bindrup, 79, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 22, 2011. He was born on October 2, 1932 to Nephi Vernon and Vera King Bindrup in Logan, Utah.

He owned and operated Bindrup Trucking. Through trucking and the many places he lived, he met and had many friends. Darrel was a member of JC's and American Quarter Horse Association. He lived in Mesa, Arizona for four years and Evanston, Wyoming for five years.

Darrel loved to travel. He spoke fondly of surfing in Hawaii. He was an outdoorsman where he spent many hours hunting and fishing. Darrell especially loved spending time with his daughters, "The Bindrup Girls", we love you Dad.

He is survived by his special friend Winnie Johnson, daughters, Debora (Dennis) Goy, Vicky Bindrup, and Pam (Dan) Bindrup Archibald, four grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, brothers, Reed (Karen) Bindrup, Providence; Bill (Orell) Bindrup, Mountain Green; Ken (Pam) Bindrup, Mountain Green; and Robert (Retta) Bindrup, Boise, Idaho; sisters, Cherrill Buchanon, Woods Cross, and Ina (Mel) Murray, West Haven; and many nieces and nephews.

Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, brother Verl, and son Brent.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
