Born in Greenville County, he was a son of Margaret Childers Bowen Moog of Greenville and the late Ed Bowen, and husband of the late Glenda Fowler Bowen.
Mr. Bowen retired from Pride Mech., and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his four daughters, Connie Haynie of Florida, Missy Moody of Greenville, and Tonya Burgess and Pam Bowen, both of Easley; his four sisters; Camilla Moog Mccravey, Elaine Blackwell, Becky Kingery, and Annette Harvey of Greenville ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister Janice Bowen Heath and a brother Donnie Bowen.
