Aaron Alley, 67, of 6611 Harrison Ave., Hammond, Ind., formerly of Murphysboro, died Wednesday in a Chicago hospital.

He was born Aug. 18, 1906, in Ava, to Steven and Mary McBride Alley.

On July 7, 1926, in Ava, he married Bernice Bartlett.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Shriners and A.F. and A.M., all in Hammond.

He was the owner of Alley Welding shop, Hammond.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shirley Janssen, Oklahoma; a son, Clifford, Hammond; a twin brother, Oren, Ava; sisters, Josephine Dutch and Alice Williams, both of Murphysboro, and Martha Thompson, Ava; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church, Hammond, with burial in Hammond.

Friends may call Friday evening at the Oxman and McCoy Funeral Home, Hammond.
