John Samuel Jenkins, 75, Terlton, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 23, 2011. John was born in Sparks, Kansas, on July 15, 1936, to William Henry Jenkins and Gladys Faye (Ptomey) Jenkins.
He was married to Joyce Bullock in Elmdale, Kansas, on December 2, 1956. John was a carpenter by trade. He loved the outdoors and was an avid collector of many things. John raised chickens and showed them all over the state. He was an excellent craftsman and built many different things including doll furniture. John also worked many years at Steer Inn in Mannford, Oklahoma, where he met many friends over the years. He loved the times that he could spend with his beloved family. John will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Gladys Jenkins; daughter Rhonda Jenkins; and brother Bill Jenkins

John is survived by his wife; two daughters and their husbands; two sons and their wives; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters; brother-in-law; brother; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for John will be Thursday, October 27, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. in the Church of the Nazarene in Mannford, Oklahoma. Rev. David Rogers will officiate. Visitation for John will be Wednesday, October 26, 2011, from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. The family will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
