Paul Nation, 69, of Woodburn, died Sept. 23, 2008.

Born May 6, 1939, in Yuba City, Calif., he was the eldest child of Samuel Peter Nation and Rosalie Reeves. He attended school in Marysville, Calif. and after high school graduation joined the United States Air Force. He received specializing training in refrigeration and served as a refrigeration instructor.

He married Charlotte Boggs on Dec. 26, 1967. He had many hobbies which included radio control airplanes, photography and cooking. He was an avid reader whose favorite pastime was spent watching his grandchildren play and grow. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Woodburn.

He is survived by wife Charlotte Nation; daughters Rachelle Parker of Salt Lake City, Utah, Lisa Nelson of Woodburn, Laurie Eastman of Gig Harbor, Wash., Carleigh Nation of Woodburn; son Peter James Nation of Alexandria, Va.; sisters Shirley Carey of Jacksonville, Fla., Carolyn Teasdale of Layton, Utah, and Barbara Nation of Hanford, Calif.; three sisters; 12 grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held Sept. 27 at 2:30 p.m. at Belle Passi Cemetery.
