Preston L. Hill, 60, died Sunday at the St. Vincent's Medical Center in jacksonville following a brief illness.
A native of Terre Haute, Ind., he had lived in Crescent Beach for the past two months, coming from Palatka where he had lived for one year. He had formerly lived in Interlachen from 1980-1991. He had retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a chief warrant officer II in 1970, after 21 years of service. His field of expertise in the military was petroleum engineering. He was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He formerly managed Auto Zone in Palatka, and the Ecol gad station in Palatka. He was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10164 in Interlachen.
