John H. Packard, 68, of Heath, formerly of Dalton, died Satuday night at the Franklin County hospital in Greenfield after an illness of four weeks.
A native of Plainfield, Mr. Packard was born Oct. 13, 1882, a son of Cyrus and Dora (Mills) Packard. He had been a resident of Heath since July and before that lived for 32 years in Dalton, where he was employed by Crane & Company, Inc. He was a member of the Dalton Congregational church. He was never married.
Mr. Packard leaves two brothers, Charles of Heath and Robert of Cincinnati, Ohio, four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Brown of Sommerville, Mrs. Mabel Landstrom of South Boston, Mrs. Marion Deane of Bridgeport, Conn. and Miss Olive Packard of Plainfield, and three half-brothers, Harold and Thomas Packard of Plainfield and Herbert Packard of Monson.
Funeral services will be held in the Smith funeral home in Shelburne Falls tomorrow after-noon at 1 o'clock. Rev. Albert H. Baller of Heath will officiate and burial will be in the West Hill cemetery in Plainfield.
