He was a Justice of the Peace for many years and was Town Moderator many times between 1835 and 1852. He was also Selectman most years between 1826 and 1832. He is in Tomb 5 Unter the Hill at the South Cemetery although he has an inscription on the family obelisk signed by M. Davis.
