Margaret A. Tomlinson, 87, of Henry, IL died at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley, Ill.

Margaret was born Nov. 26, 1923, in Spring Valley, Ill., to Russell C. and Anna R. (Toemmes) Tomlinson.

Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Ned Ransom and Todd Ransom, both of Henry, Judith (Ransom) Wilson of Aurora, Colo., Jane (Ransom) Stoner of Crown Point, Ind., Kay Tomlinson of St. Louis, Mo., and Randy Tomlinson of Franklin, Tenn.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Her parents; one brother, Arthur R. Tomlinson; and one sister, Rebecca T. Ransom, preceded her in death.

Margaret was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Henry and an active member of the Eastern Star and White Shrine.

Margaret had lived to serve others. She volunteered for many years at the Henry Food Pantry and was a strong supporter of Relay For Life.

She was a registered nurse working in all areas of nursing and was affiliated with the Red Cross. After her retirement form nursing, she worked for 10 years at the United States Post Office in Putnam.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Henry Cemetery.
