STATE COLLEGE - Kenneth Lewis Askey, 42, of 1200 Linn St., State college, died in the Mountainview Unit of the Centre Community Hospital, Monday, June 24 at 1:30 p.m. following a lengthy illness.
Born at Curwensville Nov. 17, 1931, he was the son of the late Ralph and Priscilla (Golding) Askey.
He was married at Clearfield Sept. 24, 1960 to the former Ruth Ann Kasnick who survives with two daughters, Debra and Sharon, at home.
He is survived by these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Frank (Grace) Beyrent, Morristown, N.J.; Ernest Erhard, San Antonio, Texas; Mrs. Clair (Gladys) Schmouder, Trout Run; Kenneth Erhard, Denver, Colo.
He was a graduate of Morris Township High School, class of 1960, and Lycoming College, Williamsport. He was a retired buyer and expediter for Applied Science Research Laboratory at Penn state.
He served in the Navy during the Korean conflict.
He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church at State College, the D.A.V. Chapter 118, V.F.W. Post 321 of State College, L.O.O.M. 206 of Bellefonte and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd at Hawk Run with the Rev. James Trost and the Rev. Edward Nessersmith officiating. Interment will be in the Ashcroft Cemetery at Hawk Run.
Friends may call at the Dahlgren Funeral Home, Philipsburg, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
