Dorothy L. Hill, 69, of Springfield died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 16, 1928, in Springfield, the daughter of Paul and Margaret Stoffel Austin. She married Leroy W. Hill in 1949. Mrs. Hill, a lifelong resident of Springfield, was a homemaker most of her life. She was employed as a clerical worker for five years at Herndons Department Store and worked at Illini Dairy Queen for five years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors: husband, Leroy W.; a daughter, Cherlyn (husband, Larry) Harness of Sherman; three grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (wife, Jean) Austin Jr. and Thomas Austin, both of Rochester; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services: noon Thursday, Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Rev. Theodore C. Gall officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Staab Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
