In the 1850 census, Paul is with his parents in Lawrence County Missouri,age 21. He married Sarah Jane Poage on 24 March 1853 in Lawrence County,and they had eight children: William John, Mary Jane, Henry Clay, Isabella Boyd, Emma Grant, Margaret Ann, Winifred (Minnie), and Josie Rebecca Orr.
Paul was an elder in Ozark Prairie Presbyterian Church, which was founded in 1854. He and wife Sarah also deeded land to the Ozark Prairie Presbyterian Church on 15 Oct 1867 (Lawrence County, Book N, Page 30). He was made an elder in 1872. Paul was a farmer.
Note: Paul's obituary in the "Fountain and Journal" says that the family came to Lawrence County in 1840 but the year was 1837. Six nephews were pallbearers: Fred, George, Walter and John Orr, Willie Wilson and Frank Jones.
