John J. Antoon Sr., age 77 of Uniontown, Pa., died May 14, 2011 at home. He was born February 1, 1934 in North Union Township. He was the son of the Late Joseph F. (Muggsy) and Minnie F. (John) Antoon. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Edward Antoon.

John was a life long member of Saint George Maronite Catholic Church. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in Korea and he retired from the Department of Transportation in 1999. He was an extremely talented musician having his own Polka Band. He loved restoring antique and classic vehicles and coaching elementary basketball for both St. George Church and R.W. Clark Elementary School where he won both school and church championships.

Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Katherine (Milan) Antoon and their children: John J. Antoon Jr., Janet Antoon Daugherty and husband Thomas and Linda Antoon Palkovic and husband Daniel; grandchildren: James E. Styko Jr., Cody A. Antoon and Paige E. Antoon; brother, Ferris and wife Deanna Antoon of W. Long Branch, New Jersey and their children: Jeff, Phillip and Susan Antoon; Aunt Margaret Rida of Uniontown and cousins.

Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday morning until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said followed by a 10 a.m. Divine Liturgy in Saint George Maronite Catholic Church with Rev. Father Nadim Helou, M.L.M. as celebrant. Interment follows in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Service of Ghinnaz will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Military Honors will be accorded at graveside by AMVETS.
