Obituary
Frederic Hofer was born in Switzerland, October 28, 1840. He came to America with his parents in 1852, and settled in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. He was married to Elizabeth Barnt in September of 1862. Eight children were born to this union. The widow and six children survive. The living are Thomas, Daniel, Corinne, Joseph, David and Orpha. There are eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Hofer joined the Lutheran church in early youth and continued his membership with the same until his death, on February 22, 1916. He was highly respected by his neighbors, and was a modest, intelligent and hard working citizen. He had resided on the present homestead for the past forty years.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. R. E. J. Thompson, at Fairview church, on February 25. Internment in Woodlawn cemetery.
