Melvin, “Mel” Roth of St. Paul, Minnesota passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 22, 2003. Preceded in death by parents Mayer and Sophie Rothstein; brothers, Josheph and Jay Rothstein; sister Nettie Viner. At the time he was survived by his wife Ruth, one brother Seymour (Matge) Rothstein. Devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A servant of his lord, friend and good Samaritan to all who ask for assistance. Faithful and community; active member of his of Arlington Hills Lutheran Church. He will be greatly missed for his wonderful sence of humor and loving ways he shared with family, friends and employees. Prominent Minnesota businessman. Founder of King Pin Foods and Shopper’s City Stores,(Located once on 63th and Osseo Road,(Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Center). Shopper City was the ground floor in combining Grocery Food and General Merchandise in one shopping building. Once a year they would have a furniture tent sale in the summer months. Truly Mel was beyond his times. He was a retired President of Red Owl Foods and Synder Drug Stores. Since retirement spent winters in Bradenton, Florida with Ruth. Mel will be missed by many friends. The family would like to thank the staff and friends at Lyngblomsten Care Center and The Pillars Hospice facility for their caring hearts and support. Visitation was on Thursday, March 27th from 4-8pm at Wulff Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1485 White Bear Avenue. Also one prior to serice at church. Services were Friday, March 28, 1 pm at Arlington Hills Lutheran Church, 1115 Greenbrier Street at Geranium. Private interment. Memorials were preferred to Arlington Hills Luthern Church or Temple of Aaron.
